1) I've assembled for your pleasure here seven deadly sins of speaking. I'm not pretending this is an exhaustive list~,

→ assembled: 모인, 집합된, 결집한 / exhaustive: 철저한 완전한

해석>> 여러분께서 알기 쉽게 말하기의 7가지 죄악을 정리해 보았습니다. 이것이 총망라한 목록은 아니지만~

2) Penultimate, the sixth of the seven, embroidery, exaggeration. It demeans our language

→ Penultimate: 끝에서 두번째의 / embroidery: 자수(패턴/무늬) / demean: (자신의) 위신을 떨어뜨리다, 품위를 손상시키다, 비하하다.

해석>> 끝에서 두 번째, 7번째 중 6번째는 이야기를 치장하거나, 과장하는 것입니다. 이것은 우리의 언어를 해칩니다.

3) And finally, dogmatism. The confusion of facts with opinions. When those two things get conflated, you're listening into the wind.

→ dogmatism: 독단주의 / conflate: 융합하다, 합체하다/ into the world: 바람을 향하여(거슬러), 소용없는, 의미없는

해석>> 마지막으로, 독단주의입니다. 사실과 의견을 혼동하는 것입니다. 두 가지가 융합되면, 의미없는 소리를 듣는 것입니다.

4) I'd like to suggest that there are four really powerful cornerstones, foundations, that we can stand on if we want our speech to be powerful and to make change in the world. Fortunately, these things spell a word.

→ cornerstone: 기초 / spell a word: 단어의 철자를 말하다(쓰다)

해석>> 우리의 연설이 강력하고, 세상을 바꿀만한 것이 되도록 하기 원한다면, 토대로 삼아야 할 강력한 네가지 기초 원리가 있습니다. 다행이도, 이것들은 단어로 철자가 됩니다.

5) I'm talking about this definition, to greet or acclaim enthusiastically, which is how I think our words will be received if we stand on these four things.

→ acclaim: 칭송하다, 환호를 보내다 / stand on: ~에 기초하다, ~에 만족하다, ~를 확신하다, ~를 주장하다.

해석>> 네 가지에 기초해서 우리의 말을 받아들여지는 방법을 열렬하게 환영하기 위해서 이 정의를 말씀드립니다.

6) A friend of mine described it as standing in your own truth, which I think is a lovely way to put it.

→ put it: 말하다, 표현하다, 언급하다 / in truth: 사실은(실은)

해석>> 제 친구가 "자신만의 진실을 말한다"고 설명을 하던데, 그게 참 괜찮은 설명인 것 같습니다.

7) Tempered with love, of course, honesty is a great thing.

→ tempered: 조절된, 완화된/ temper with: ~으로 누그러뜨리다.

해석>> 물론 사랑으로 완화되어, 정직은 훌륭한 것입니다.
