→ dread: 몹시 두려워하다.

해석>> 내가 알고 있는 산모 한명은 베이비 샤워를 두려워하고 있었어요.

6) transition to parenthood. And so she asked two friends to invent a gathering based on that

→ invent: 발명하다, 만들어달라고 하다.

해석>> 곧 부모가 되는 사람이요. 그리고 그녀는 친구 두명에게 이걸 바탕으로 모임을 만들어 달라고 요청했어요.

7) The norm of politeness was blocking their progress.

→ norm: 기준, 규칙

해석>> 공손함이라는 기준이 그들의 발전을 막고 있었습니다.

8) Choose a theme related to the underlying conflict.Bu

→ underlying: 근본적인, 밑에 있는

해석>> 갈등과 관련된 주제를 선택해서

9) giving people a way in to each other without burning the house down.

→ burning down: 허물을 없애다

해석>> 사람들이 서로에 대해서 알수 있게

10) And in diverse societies, pop-up rules carry special force.

→ pop-up 일시적인

해석>> 다양한 사회에서, 일시적인 규칙은 특별한 힘을 가지고 있습니다.
